PSG want to extend Achraf Hakimi’s contract
Paris Saint-Germain want to extend Achraf Hakimi’s contract. According to L’Équipe, the Parisian club’s management recently contacted the Morocco international’s representatives to discuss a new extension. However, the player and his representatives currently prefer not to rush the discussions.
PSG take the initiative
Arriving in the capital in the summer of 2021 from Inter Milan, Achraf Hakimi has established himself as an indispensable part of the Parisian setup. At 27, the right-back is still considered one of the key figures in Luis Enrique’s team. His current contract runs until June 2029. Despite this, PSG would already like to extend his deal in order to secure his long-term future.
The player’s position would nevertheless be different. According to information reported by L’Équipe, Hakimi and his representatives have preferred to bide their time, believing that there is still plenty of time before considering signing a new contract. This would not represent a refusal to continue his Paris adventure, but rather a desire to take his time before opening genuine negotiations.
An exceptional performance against Le Havre
This approach comes after the Morocco international produced a remarkable performance. In PSG’s 5-1 win over Le Havre on October 30, Hakimi scored a hat-trick and provided two assists.
A performance that confirms his importance within the Parisian squad and explains the club’s desire to keep him for the long term. The matter therefore remains open: Paris want to move forward, while the player prefers to wait before considering his contractual future.
