This match could seal, in the event of a poor result for Los Merengues, the fate of Xabi Alonso on the Madrid bench. For days, the Spanish media have been speculating about Xabi’s successor, with Álvaro Arbeloa’s name frequently surfacing, as well as those of Zinedine Zidane and Jürgen Klopp.

Currently an executive for the Red Bull group, Klopp has reportedly signed an agreement with his current employer. According to Defensa Central, this would allow him to leave his post freely should a major European club or the German national team come calling. The question now is whether he would be interested in taking the reins at Real Madrid.
