Real Madrid has provided an update on Dani Carvajal after his injury during the Madrid derby on Saturday.

After being sidelined yesterday in Real Madrid's heavy 5-2 defeat to Atlético, Dani Carvajal now has a clear diagnosis. The Spanish full-back is suffering from a soleus muscle injury in his right leg. "Following the tests carried out today on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid medical staff, a soleus muscle injury in his right leg has been diagnosed. Further results are pending," the club stated in an official release on Sunday.

According to the Spanish press, Carvajal is expected to be out of action for around a month. This is another blow for Xabi Alonso, who will also have to cope without Trent Alexander-Arnold for several weeks, with El Clásico against Barça scheduled for the end of October.
