Senegal international Assane Diao is set to make his much-anticipated return for his club Como 1907.

Sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury last December during the Serie A clash against AS Roma, the Ndongane native is expected to be back in action very soon.

According to Italian outlet serieagoal, the Lion could return to the pitch as early as the match against Lecce, scheduled for February 28, or possibly in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter Milan.

This is excellent news for Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw, who will have an additional attacking option for the upcoming international break scheduled for next March.

Assane Diao

As a reminder, Assane Diao missed the most recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to this very injury.

A former youth international for Spain, he has made two appearances for the Lions so far, though he has yet to find the net or provide an assist.
