Free this summer, Hakim Ziyech is expected to sign with Elche in Spain in the coming hours.

After Al-Duhail decided not to extend his contract following a six-month stint, Hakim Ziyech has been without a club for several weeks. Not the ideal scenario to maintain full match fitness, especially for a player like the Moroccan international, who has struggled with numerous injuries in recent years.

Ziyech has therefore been searching for a new challenge—and it looks like he’s set for La Liga. According to Deportes Cope Elche, Hakim Ziyech is on the verge of joining Elche, currently 12th in La Liga. Only a few minor details remain to finalize the deal. The Moroccan is set to make his return to European football.
