As Algeria's opening match at the 2026 World Cup approaches, Ibrahim Maza has offered a fascinating glimpse into how the Greens are preparing for their showdown against Argentina. His statement speaks volumes about the mental preparation instilled by Vladimir Petkovic.

He's only 20 years old, but his words carry the weight of a seasoned pro. Welcomed at the Algerian presidential palace before heading to the United States, Ibrahim Maza didn’t mince his words when it came to Argentina.

"The first match against Argentina is very important. The Argentinians provoke a lot, we have to stay calm during the game. We are going to beat Messi," declared the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
