Left out of Spain’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, Dean Huijsen has finally spoken up after several days of controversy.
Dean Huijsen has chosen to ease the tension following his omission from Spain’s World Cup 2026 roster. The Real Madrid defender had sparked plenty of reaction in recent days after a post that many interpreted as a dig at Luis de la Fuente.

The young Madrid defender notably shared the Liga Team of the Season, which included himself, right after the Spanish World Cup squad was announced.
With the controversy growing, Dean Huijsen felt it necessary to calm things down with a message posted on Instagram:
“Congratulations to my teammates who will be taking part in the World Cup, I’ll be supporting them from home just like any other Spaniard.”
