The towel incident, which emerged during the Africa Cup of Nations final, continues to fuel banter well beyond the pitch. Ever since Senegal's triumph, the scene has become a popular symbol, widely shared and parodied on social networks, to the point of becoming one of the most talked-about moments of this AFCON.

In Dakar, during the parade honoring the Lions of Teranga, the story reached a new level. Welcomed as heroes in the streets of the capital, the players were then received by the country's highest authorities, in a festive and jubilant atmosphere.

It was there that the Senegalese Prime Minister made a remark that instantly went viral, addressing the substitute goalkeeper who unintentionally became the face of the incident:

"Where are the towels?"

A good-natured tease, destined to become a lasting part of this final's folklore.
