Arsenal: Al Hilal makes a move for Gabriel Martinelli
Al Hilal has reportedly opened talks with Arsenal for Gabriel Martinelli, who has been put on the transfer market after losing his place in the London squad.
A major departure could be on the cards at Arsenal. According to The Athletic, Al Hilal has initiated discussions to sign Gabriel Martinelli. The 25-year-old Brazilian winger has become a top target for the Saudi club and, this time, appears ready to experience the Saudi Pro League.
Al Hilal aware of Arsenal's asking price
The Gunners are reportedly demanding around €70 million to let their player go. Martinelli had previously turned down an offer from Galatasaray estimated at €45 million. His position appears to be different regarding Al Hilal, which has the financial muscle to come close to Arsenal's demands. However, no final agreement has yet been reached.
Martinelli sidelined by Mikel Arteta
Under contract until June 2027, with an option for an additional season, the Brazilian was left out of both the Community Shield and the opening matchday of the Premier League. The arrival of Christos Tzolis and Arsenal's desire to secure a significant transfer fee have weakened his position. An offer that meets the Premier League champions' expectations could therefore accelerate his departure.
Seven seasons and 62 goals with Arsenal
Signed from Ituano in the summer of 2019, Martinelli has just completed his seventh season in London. In the 2025-2026 campaign, he netted 11 goals and provided 7 assists across all competitions. Since his arrival, the Brazilian international has racked up 62 goals in 278 appearances for Arsenal. It's an impressive record, even though his playing time decreased during the last campaign.
