Azzedine Ounahi: OM reaches agreement with Girona
Azzedine Ounahi

Azzedine Ounahi is finally set to leave Olympique de Marseille.

After a turbulent summer, the young Moroccan Azzedine Ounahi is on his way to Girona. Linked with several European clubs during the transfer window, the Moroccan international was determined to play in La Liga to keep his hopes alive for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup with the Atlas Lions. Girona initially offered €3 million for 50% of the player’s rights, but have since returned with a proposal more in line with Marseille’s demands.

OM has now reached a deal with the Spanish club. Girona will secure Ounahi for a fee of €6 million and will hold 80% of the player's sporting rights. However, this transfer leaves one party disappointed: Angers SCO. The French club had included a 30% clause on any future profit from Ounahi’s transfer when he moved from Angers to Marseille, but due to the terms of the deal between OM and Girona, they will not receive a single cent.
