Bruno Fernandes puts Roy Keane in his place

Bruno Fernandes has publicly responded to Roy Keane after criticism aimed at his statements regarding his Premier League statistics.

Bruno Fernandes made a point of addressing Roy Keane's criticism publicly after several controversies surrounding his comments about his record number of assists in the Premier League. The Manchester United captain, who was recently voted the league's best player, insisted he has never put his personal stats ahead of the team’s interests.

The Portuguese midfielder didn't hide his frustration over certain interpretations of his words:

"I accept his criticism, I accept that he may or may not like me as a player, or as a person. But what I don't appreciate is when he attributes words to me that I haven't said. That's the only thing that bothers me."

Bruno Fernandes also revealed he tried to defuse the situation directly with the United legend:

"I even asked Ole for his number so I could send him a message, to be honest, just to say I have nothing against criticism, but I don't like it when people lie about what I say."
