Cameroon - Elite One: Unisport retakes the lead, Colombe vs Canon ends in a draw

The 10th matchday of the Cameroon Elite One championship delivered its partial verdict this Wednesday with three games played. Victorious over Stade Renard, Unisport du Haut-Nkam climbs back to the top of the standings ahead of Coton Sport, while Gazelle FA rounds out the podium.

Leaders after matchday 9, Unisport du Haut-Nkam showed no nerves as they reclaimed their top spot. Facing Stade Renard de Melong at the Bafang municipal stadium, the Western club secured a 2-1 win. Propelled by a decisive Rostand Mbai, who netted a brace, the home side made the difference in open play and capitalized on their dominant spells. On the other side, Stade Renard pulled one back through Moustapha Ngae, but couldn't turn the tide.

With this victory, Unisport now sits on 20 points, reclaiming the league lead ahead of Coton Sport (19 points), who had won the day before.

Colombe and Canon cancel each other out in the headline clash

At the Annex 1 stadium in Mfandena, the clash between Colombe Sportive du Sud and Canon Sportif de Yaoundé lived up to expectations... but ended without a winner (1-1). Canon struck first in the opening half through Franck Belobo, set up nicely by Nathan Douala. The "Kpakum" enjoyed spells of domination but couldn't extend their lead.

After the break, Colombe stepped up their game and eventually earned a penalty, coolly converted by Brice Edmond Sindjo (77'). The two sides shared the spoils after a fiercely contested encounter.

PWD held at home for the first time

In Bamenda, PWD was held to a goalless draw (0-0) by AS Fortuna. This result is notable since the club had previously boasted a perfect home record of four wins in four matches this season. Fortuna thus becomes the first team to halt PWD on their own turf.

Results from Wednesday, March 18, 2026
