Senegal and DR Congo played to a stalemate (1-1) on Saturday in a match counting for the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025).

Cédric Bakambu opened the scoring for the Leopards in the 61st minute, before Sadio Mané leveled things up for the Lions just eight minutes later.

With four points each, both teams are leading the pack in Group D, edging Benin by just one point.

The third and final matchday, set for Tuesday, December 30, promises to be decisive in determining which two—or possibly three—teams will qualify for the CAN 2025 round of 16.

Senegal is gearing up for an intense clash against a determined Benin side, while DR Congo will take on a Botswana squad that looks well within their reach.
