CAN 2025 - Senegal: Sadio Mané bows to Ibrahim Mbaye
At the end of the clash between DR Congo and Senegal this Saturday, Sadio Mané was highly impressed by the talent of Ibrahim Mbaye.
At just 17 years old, Ibrahim Mbaye is already proving himself to be a potential phenomenon for Senegal. His performances with the Lions of Teranga during CAN 2025 are closely monitored by PSG. Against DR Congo (1-1), in what was otherwise a lackluster match for the Lions of Teranga, the young Parisian prospect completely changed the dynamic of the game after coming off the bench.
A performance that won everyone over. DR Congo’s coach, Sébastien Desabre, didn’t miss a beat: “Ibrahim Mbaye’s introduction made all the difference. He’s a talented boy. His speed and technique caused us problems.”
For his part, Sadio Mané was both impressed and full of admiration: “Seventeen years old at this level is impressive. He has a bright future ahead of him. We’ll try to integrate him even more into our group so he can help us even more, because he’s an exceptional player.”
