Champions League: PSG lead Chelsea at halftime
At the end of the first half of this Champions League round of 16 first leg between PSG and Chelsea (2-1), the Blues are trailing.
PSG came out firing in this round of 16 clash. Barcola unleashed a powerful left-footed volley to quickly put the European champions in front (1-0, 10’). The Blues, however, fought their way back into the contest. With some rapid counterattacks, Liam Rosenior’s men managed to get dangerously close to the Parisian penalty area.
On a move down the left flank, no one tracked back to the far post, allowing Gusto to equalize (1-1, 28’). But after a brilliant save from Safonov, PSG struck on the break—Dembélé danced past Fofana and beat Jörgensen with a clinical right-footed finish to restore the lead for PSG (2-1, 40’).
