French Cup - France: N'Golo Kanté cautious about Senegal
Speaking to the press this Monday, N'Golo Kanté issued a warning to the entire French squad ahead of their opening clash against Senegal in the 2026 World Cup.
Appearing at the press conference before Les Bleus kick off their campaign against Senegal, N'Golo Kanté delivered a clear and measured message. The French midfielder highlighted the quality of the Senegalese national team.
"I have Malian roots, but I have represented France for a long time now. The goal is to win against Senegal. We all remember what happened in 2002. We want to start this tournament with a victory—not for revenge, but to set the tone and go as far as possible. Senegal have a lot of quality, especially in midfield, which was impressive at the last tournament. They also have a strong attack and solid defense. We’ll need to take them seriously, but I believe we have what it takes to win," he stated.
