Ibrahim Cissoko chooses the Syli National

Guinea can now count on a new attacking weapon: Ibrahim Cissoko. The Dutch U21 international has decided to switch sporting nationality and commit his future to the Syli National.

On loan from Toulouse to Bolton since last summer, the 22-year-old winger is making a name for himself at the League One club. He has played 25 matches this season (975 minutes) and has already scored 4 goals.

Born in Nijmegen, he came up through the youth academy of his hometown club and played across various age groups before turning professional in July 2022.

He joined Toulouse in the summer of 2023 but was unable to secure a regular spot, resulting in a series of loan spells in England with Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday, and currently Bolton.

The young player previously wore the Netherlands U21 shirt, featuring in a friendly against Norway and making two substitute appearances in the qualifiers for the category’s Euro—against Moldova and Georgia in September 2024.

With this change of sporting nationality, he is now eligible for Paulo Duarte’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Togo on March 27 and Benin on March 31 in Morocco.
