Negotiations between Antwerp and Shakhtar Donetsk for Lassina Traoré have reached a standstill. The Burkinabè striker will not be heading to Belgium this summer.

A financial disagreement has derailed the potential transfer of Lassina Traoré to the Jupiler Pro League. The ninth-placed team in Belgium’s top flight has decided to pull out due to what they considered excessive demands from the Ukrainian club.

Indeed, Shakhtar Donetsk was asking for €4 million to let go of the Stallion (28 caps, 12 goals). However, the Belgians refused to pay more than €2.5 million for the native of Bobo-Dioulasso.

The 24-year-old forward will have to continue his journey with the Ukrainian club, with just one year left on his contract—unless another team comes in with an offer that satisfies the club’s management.
