Official: Stephen Constantine appointed new Rwanda head coach
The Rwanda Football Federation officially announced on March 12, 2026, the appointment of Stephen Constantine as the new national team head coach. The 63-year-old English tactician returns to lead the Rwanda national football team, a side he previously managed between 2014 and 2015.
During his previous stint, Constantine made history in Rwandan football by guiding the national side to its highest-ever FIFA ranking, reaching 64th in the world.
His mission is now crystal clear: to revive the Amavubi on both the continental and international stage. The coach's main objectives will be to qualify Rwanda for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and to aim for a historic first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance.
