Real Madrid: Vinicius Jr's response to the criticism
On Wednesday evening, Real Madrid battled hard against Roma to secure a win in the Champions League. At the final whistle, Vinicius Jr hit back at his critics.
Yesterday, Vinicius Jr once again put in a disappointing performance. The Brazilian was understandably replaced by Endrick with Real Madrid trailing by two goals. The Real Madrid winger watched from the bench as his teammates came back to beat Roma (4-3) in the Champions League.
Vinicius unhappy at being substituted
After his team's victory, Vinicius Jr did not hide his frustration when he sat down on the bench. He spoke to the media in the mixed zone to respond to the strong criticism he has faced in recent weeks.

"It's normal for me to be angry after being substituted; I always want to play every minute, but that's not possible. Today, Endrick played very well, as did Carlos Espi. (...) Am I often substituted? I'm not saying that I'm worried; I'm angry with myself for not being at my best, but Vini always comes back (sic), and I will start scoring goals again. (...) Years ago, many people made fun of me and said I wouldn't score goals, yet the goals are there. I don't need to remind anyone of the titles I've won; it's up to me to keep working," declared the former Flamengo player.
