The fans have spoken: the ideal XI of the 2026 World Cup brings together several global superstars and the unexpected Cape Verdean goalkeeper Vozinha.

FIFA has officially unveiled the team of the tournament for the 2026 World Cup as chosen by supporters. Set up in a highly attacking 4-2-4 formation, this lineup features players from seven different nations.

Vozinha earns recognition as France and Spain dominate

The biggest surprise comes in goal: Vozinha. At 40 years old, the keeper led Cape Verde to the knockout stage in their first-ever World Cup appearance, making a stunning seven saves against Spain and eight against Argentina.

With three players each, France and Spain are the most represented nations. Fans also honored the tournament’s top attacking stars. Mbappé finished as top scorer with ten goals, while Messi racked up eight goals and four assists.
