The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) could be facing a serious setback. According to reports from WinWin, mounting delays in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are causing significant concern among African football authorities.

The latest inspections by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have revealed major shortcomings, especially regarding stadiums and accommodation infrastructure. Some venues still fail to meet international standards, putting the tournament's organization at risk.

Still according to WinWin, a new assessment is scheduled for August, ahead of a final decision expected in December 2026. Given the scale of the delays, a postponement of the competition can no longer be ruled out.
