CAF Champions League Draw: 14 qualified teams and remaining matches before Johannesburg ceremony
The race to the CAF Champions League 2025 /26 group stage is nearly complete. 14 club have already booked their tickets while two remaining spots will be decided in the coming days following the conclusion of 2nd preliminary round.
Al Ahly continue their continental charge
Egyptian giants Al Ahly progressed comfortably after defeating Burundi’s Aigle Noir 2-0 on aggregate.
The reigning African champions remain on course for record extending 12th CAF Champions League title continuing their dominance across the continent.
Al Hilal through with authority
Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan also sealed qualification beating Kenya Police FC 4-1 on aggregate (1-0 away – 3-1 at home).
The Sudanese side advance to the group stage for 2nd consecutive year solidifying their reputation as one of East Africa’s strongest teams.
Historic moment for Saint Eloi Lupopo
The biggest story of the round came from DR Cong where Saint Eloi Lupopo stunned Orlando Pirates of South Africa. After thrilling 3-3 aggregate draw, Lupopo triumphed 5-4 on penalties to qualify for the group stage for 1st time in club history.

CAF has confirmed that the group stage draw will take place on 3 November 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. 2 final matches remain:
- Pyramids vs Ethiopian Insurance (2nd leg on 30 October in Cairo, first leg 1-1)
