FC Barcelona: Hansi Flick confirms two returns ahead of PSG
With the clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League approaching, Hansi Flick made two major announcements this Friday.
The most eagerly awaited clash of the third matchday of the Champions League will see PSG take on FC Barcelona. To face the Parisians, Hansi Flick can count on two major returns. At a press conference this Friday, the coach confirmed that he would ultimately be able to rely on Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong.
"If you ask him (Raphinha, editor’s note), he’ll tell you that he’s ready, but for me, we have to take it step by step. Yesterday, he trained with the team and came through it well, but we have a lot of matches to play in the coming days and weeks, and we will have to adapt. The most important thing is that he is available, just like Frenkie de Jong," said the coach.
De Jong ready to play again
Hansi Flick went on to provide an update on Frenkie de Jong. The Netherlands international has not played a single minute since the start of the season. "Everyone knows that Frenkie is a top-level player. I am very happy that he is back and available; this gives us a new option. We have to see how he progresses. Everything seems to be going well, even in training. I think he is ready to play a few minutes," he explained.
