Kaizer Chiefs: Bradley Cross gives the fans and the coach a morale boost!
Bradley Cross, the left-back at Kaizer Chiefs, has declared himself back to full fitness and eager to contribute to the team's cause, having sat out the bulk of this season's fixtures because of injury.
The 25-year-old made his return to the pitch last month, turning out in two matches after picking up an injury during pre-season.
Last season, Cross was a fixture at left-back for Amakhosi, and his displays were impressive enough to earn him a spot in South Africa's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Returning before an important match
Speaking to the media on Monday, Cross explained that he has been steadily building up his fitness after picking up a pre-season injury, working tirelessly day in and day out to recover, and now considers himself fully fit.
His return hands Chiefs a timely lift as they gear up for Tuesday's Betway Premiership encounter with Stellenbosch FC.
Even so, Amakhosi remain depleted, with Lebohang Maboe, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Adolf Mtasingwa and winger Langelihle Phili all ruled out, while goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is likewise unavailable.
Notwithstanding these absentees, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz remains confident that his side has done the necessary groundwork for the fixture.
Da Cruz acknowledged that the injuries are far from ideal, but stressed the importance of directing attention to those who are fit and ready to play.
With maximum points against Stellenbosch the target, Kaizer Chiefs will be eager to bolster their league standing and keep their aspirations for the season firmly alive.
