Liga: José Mourinho criticizes the schedule, Barça responds
LaLiga and its giants have been making headlines in recent days. While Real Madrid and Javier Tebas have declared an endless war on each other, José Mourinho has not found unanimous support over the issue of the Spanish schedule.
The Portuguese manager recently criticized La Liga for its lack of consideration regarding rest periods between matches. This Friday, Hansi Flick was asked about the issue at a press conference.
The German preferred not to dwell on the constraints imposed on clubs. “We have already experienced this situation. In some countries, it is different, but for us, things are what they are,” he explained. Flick even recalled a difficult trip to Valencia in the Copa del Rey. “Our flight had been canceled and we had to return to Barcelona by bus. We had a match right afterward and played well,” he added. He also stressed the need to adapt rather than complain.
A busy week for Barça
FC Barcelona are preparing to play two important matches within just a few days. The Catalans will travel to face Real Betis on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., before taking on Paris Saint-Germain four days later at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League. “We cannot change this situation, but we have to perform on the pitch; that is what depends on us,” Flick said, determined to keep his squad focused on its objectives.
