2026 World Cup: Somali referee Omar Artan selected by FIFA

Great news for Somali referee Omar Artan. He has been selected for the 2026 World Cup.

The announcement was made official by the Somali Ministry of Sports. Omar Artan will indeed be present at the 2026 World Cup in the USA.

"Congratulations to referee Omar Artan for making history in Somali football and for becoming one of the referees selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in America," reads the post on the Somali ministry's X page.
