Álvaro Arbeloa made no excuses after Real Madrid's defeat to RCD Mallorca (1-2)—an unexpected setback against a team fighting relegation.

Visibly affected, the Madrid coach took full responsibility for this slip-up, admitting that his decisions played a crucial part in the result.

This defeat is my fault, and I told the players that. It's completely and absolutely on me. I made the decisions, I chose the starting eleven, I made the substitutions, I decided how we would play. This loss is entirely a failure on the part of the Real Madrid coach.

Despite this blow in the LaLiga title race, Arbeloa is determined to bounce back quickly. He has asked his players to put this match behind them and focus on the upcoming UEFA Champions League showdown against Bayern Munich:

I want them to give their very best in this competition, which is hugely important for us, against a top-class opponent. As soon as they leave the dressing room, they should be thinking only about Bayern Munich.
