Tunisia kicked off their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 campaign in style, overpowering Uganda (3-1) on Tuesday night in the opening round of Group C.

This impressive victory was marked by a symbolic milestone for the Carthage Eagles, as they surpassed the 100-goal mark in the history of the competition.

It was Ellyes Skhiri who made history, opening the scoring with a powerful header from a Hannibal Mejbri corner in the 10th minute—officially taking Tunisia past the 100-goal threshold.

With Elias Achouri’s brace (40th, 46th minutes), Tunisia now tallies 102 goals in AFCON history across 22 editions.

Prior to Tunisia—making their 17th consecutive finals appearance since missing the 1992 edition in Senegal—five other nations had already crossed the 100-goal threshold.

Those teams are Egypt (175 goals), Ivory Coast (152), Nigeria (148), Cameroon (142), and Ghana (138)—the latter a notable absentee from this 35th edition being held in Morocco.
