Mercato: Hamed Junior Traoré nears move to Genoa
The adventure of Hamed Junior Traoré with Marseille looks set to be short-lived. According to the Italian press, the Ivorian international is on his way back to Serie A.
The attacking midfielder for Olympique de Marseille is on the verge of a loan move to Genoa. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the two clubs have reached a final agreement. Genoa plans to sign the player on loan with a purchase option set at just over €8 million.
The 26-year-old Ivorian international is under contract with Marseille until June 2030 and boasts significant experience in Italian football. He has made 149 Serie A appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 13 assists with Sassuolo and Napoli.
Traoré originally joined Marseille on loan from Bournemouth in August 2025, before the French side secured his permanent transfer for €7.5 million last May. Last season, he made 13 appearances in the French league, notching up two goals and an assist.
