Official: Hamed Junior Traoré returns to Italy

Olympique de Marseille officially announced on July 17 the departure of Hamed Junior Traoré. The Ivorian attacking midfielder joins Genoa on a loan deal.

This is a one-season loan with a purchase option. Having arrived in Marseille a year ago, the 26-year-old never managed to secure a place in the squad. Despite some flashes of brilliance, he leaves France to return to Italy. The deal is valued at 2 million euros and includes a purchase option exceeding 8 million euros should the Italian side be satisfied.

After passing his medical, Traoré signed until the end of the season. He joins the squad at their training camp in Val di Fassa for his first sessions. Well-versed in Serie A, he has racked up 149 appearances, 18 goals, and 13 assists with Sassuolo and Napoli. Still under contract with OM until June 2030, he will have the chance to reignite his career in a familiar environment.
