Real Madrid pays José Mourinho's release clause

José Mourinho's return to Real Madrid is nearly a done deal. Los Blancos have pulled out all the stops to bring the Portuguese tactician back to the helm.

While Real Madrid has yet to officially announce José Mourinho's arrival, the club is making decisive moves to secure his signature. The latest—and arguably most significant—step: paying the release clause for the "Special One". According to Sky Sport, the fee is set at €3 million to Benfica.

Now, only a few minor details remain before Mourinho is officially unveiled at the Santiago Bernabéu. An official statement from Real Madrid could come after the final matchday of La Liga.
