Galatasaray: Victor Osimhen wants to return against Trabzonspor after injury

Victor Osimhen wants to return to action against Trabzonspor. Injured on September 4 against İstanbul Başakşehir, the Galatasaray striker has missed his team’s last two matches. However, his condition has improved in recent days.

The Nigerian now wants to return to competitive action. According to Sabah, Osimhen has spoken with Okan Buruk about his situation. He told the coach that he wants to play against Trabzonspor. The striker wants to be available if his physical condition allows it. The final decision, however, will be made by Galatasaray’s medical staff.

An injury against Başakşehir

Osimhen was injured on September 4 during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir. He had put his team ahead by opening the scoring in the 16th minute. A few minutes later, he was forced to leave the pitch. He was substituted in the 33rd minute.

The injury then ruled him out of the next two matches. Osimhen did not play in the 1-0 league victory over Kocaelispor. He was also absent for the 3-1 defeat against Sporting CP in the Champions League.

His absence comes after a strong start to the season. After four rounds of the Süper Lig, the Nigerian striker had already scored six goals. One of them came against Başakşehir before he went off injured.

Galatasaray must now assess whether he can return without taking unnecessary risks. Osimhen wants to come back quickly, but the club is unlikely to rush his recovery. The next training sessions will allow the medical staff to assess his condition.
