Morocco expertly navigated the first half against Scotland on Matchday 2 of Group C at the 2026 World Cup. Thanks to a dazzling Ismaël Saibari and impressive collective control, the Atlas Lions deservedly lead at the break.

Morocco is putting on a first-half masterclass against Scotland in this second Group C fixture of the 2026 World Cup. The Atlas Lions returned to the dressing room with a one-goal advantage, the reward for a composed team performance.

The turning point of the half came as early as the 2nd minute. Set up by a superb long ball from Brahim Díaz, Ismaël Saibari finished in style with a stunning volley from a tight angle, beating Angus Gunn and scoring the fastest goal of this World Cup edition.

But Morocco didn’t stop there. Driven by an outstanding Ayyoub Bouaddi and dominance in possession, Mohamed Ouahbi’s men suffocated a very defensive Scotland. Despite Achraf Hakimi missing a chance to double the lead, the Moroccans controlled proceedings overall, with Scotland’s only real scare coming from a mishit volley by John McGinn in stoppage time.
