This marks the fourth clean sheet for the Atlas Lions’ goalkeeper in World Cup history, making him the most successful African shot-stopper in this category.

The Al-Hilal goalkeeper has now eclipsed Nigerian legends Peter Rufai and Vincent Enyeama, as well as Cameroon’s iconic Thomas N’Kono—each of whom had recorded three clean sheets at the tournament.

Before facing Scotland, Bono had already registered three clean sheets in Qatar 2022: 0-0 against Croatia, 0-0 (3-0 on penalties) against Spain, and a 1-0 shutout over Portugal.

Across 92 appearances for the Atlas Lions, the Montreal-born keeper has achieved 54 clean sheets—an impressive rate of 58% of matches without conceding a goal. Conversely, he has conceded 41 goals during his tenure with the Moroccan national team.
