Speaking to the press after RDC's victory over Benin, Samuel Moutoussamy revealed he was threatened by the match referee.

The match between RDC and Benin, which the Congolese side won 1-0, was heavily influenced by refereeing decisions. A VAR malfunction and an unpunished handball by Mbemba in his own box turned the tide of the game. After the final whistle, Samuel Moutoussamy made a major revelation, explaining why he had to leave the pitch late in the match. He shared the details with journalists in the mixed zone.

"I told the referee that I only had a cramp in my calf. I was going to grab a small bottle of water and return to the pitch, there was no need for a stretcher. But he told me: 'No, no, you have to get on the stretcher or I'll give you a yellow card.' I already had one, so I didn't think twice... It's a minor rule I wasn't aware of, probably," explained the Congolese international, who plays for Atromitos.
