Real Madrid: Dani Carvajal's heartfelt farewell message

On Saturday night, Dani Carvajal played the final match of his career in a Real Madrid shirt against Athletic (4-2).

Honored by the Santiago Bernabéu, Dani Carvajal was visibly emotional as he closed the curtain on 13 seasons of his career at Real Madrid.

"If, as a child, someone had told me I would have this career, I never would have believed it. It's been incredible. What stands out are the positives—the players, the staff, the press officers… this is the best club in the world. I tried to be nice to everyone, to be myself, to be transparent, to show my anger when I lost in training. It's not just that this is the club of my life, it's that it is my life. I climbed through every youth level, I won every title… I became captain… I couldn't ask for anything more," the defender told Real Madrid TV.

Between 2013 and 2026, Carvajal played 451 matches for Los Blancos.
