Just hours before the Champions League match between Real Madrid and AS Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini took aim at José Mourinho.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of facing José Mourinho’s Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight, Gian Piero Gasperini took a small dig. The coach targeted the Madrid manager.

Gasperini pokes fun at Mourinho

The AS Roma coach praised José Mourinho’s immense record while also poking fun at the financial resources he has benefited from throughout his career.

"José’s results and what he has achieved throughout his career speak for him. He is one of the most decorated coaches of all time. If I had to single out one thing, it would be his talent and his sense of empathy in attracting extraordinary players and convincing clubs to spend considerable sums to sign them (smiles). It’s fantastic," the Italian coach remarked.

🗣️🇮🇹 Gian Piero Gasperini: "What do I like about Mourinho? Many things, like being able to get players like Diomandé at those prices... Excellent for everything else, for his career, for all the results he's achieved everywhere, but that's a great skill." (@SkySport) https://t.co/8RP8o8mmLk
